Noise pollution

Noise pollution can harm human health by exposing the body to constant or excessive levels of unwanted sound. Prolonged exposure to loud noise from traffic, construction, airplanes, or industrial activity can trigger stress responses in the body. This includes the release of stress hormones like cortisol, which over time can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, and weakened immune function. Noise pollution also disrupts sleep, which affects mental health, concentration, and overall well-being. In addition, it can cause permanent hearing damage and increase the risk of tinnitus when exposure levels are very high. Over time, continuous exposure to noise pollution can significantly reduce quality of life and contribute to both physical and psychological health problems.
